Wedding Makeup Ideas with Bridestory

How are you guys doing? I am super hyper these past few days, I don't even know why. It must've been all the sugar I've been taking.

Today I'd like to talk to you about makeup ideas for your wedding day. I know, I know.. I have been planning my own wedding day even when I haven't had the idea who my husband would be. One of the things I planned was how my makeup would look like.

Remember: picking the right MUA and makeup look for your wedding day is just as important as picking the venue or the wedding dress itself. Make sure you've checked the MUA's portfolio, make an ahead of time appointment, do a makeup test a few days before the wedding day, and consider the theme of the dress, venue, and the whole wedding itself to match the makeup.

You would be taking a lot of photographs, so make sure that you feel good in the makeup itself. Remember, it's about enhancing your beauty, not changing your total identity.

Here are a few ideas that you can steal for your wedding day!

1. The classic smokey eye

I've seen this makeup look in tons of brides, and it has to be for a good reason. It's one of those classic makeup look that every bride seems to pick because it is quite glamorous without being over-the-top. It is usually paired with a nude lip (a classic combo).

If you are longing for a classic, timeless makeup look, this would be perfect for you.

2. Dewy Skin

Dewy skin has made its way back to trend lately, and I love the fact that it did. Dewy skin is actually pretty popular for wedding makeup, especially for the receptions that are held during the nighttime.

Lots and lots of highlighter (in the right place and amount) can really brings out the best of your whole face making you look healthy and radiant. If you have a dry skin, please consider this makeup opt instead of the all-matte-or-nothing makeup look.

3. The 1920's Glam

This I think is really happening right now, since we can't simply move on from the masterpiece that is The Great Gatsby, we have to reenact the movie in our daily life! If you're planning to have a full-glam wedding party, you should really try this look. Silver-smokey eye with red lips. It's perfect for those of you who are looking for a unique concept for your wedding day.

4. The Fresh and Effortless

If you don't wear makeup (at all) daily, and you want to keep a very simple, daytime reception wedding party, you would look stunning in these kinds of makeup. Because you don't wear makeup daily, you don't want to "shock" some people by wearing a choke-loads of makeup on your wedding day! These fresh and effortless makeup actually is the hardest ones to pull, believe it or not. My advice is to really pay attention to the MUAs portfolios, see what looks they mostly do on their clients. If they don't seem to do these kinds of looks, better try another MUAs.

These are just a few makeup ideas to inspire you for your own wedding day. Each and every pictures belongs to the entitled MUA, please do visit their portfolio in
