Hello!!

So, a couple days back, I was invited by Female Daily to attend an event held by Citra for their newest product launch which are Citra Wakame and Citra Pink Orchid. I was indeed intrigued by the invitation. Wakame is not something I've heard everyday, and I'm also curious about this pink orchid.

The event was held in the 6th floor of Morrissey Hotel. Lovely venue, indeed. Unfortunately, us bloggers were not provided with an official product shots, so we'll have to make do of these two.

As I've mentioned before, the products being launched was Citra Wakame and Citra Pink Orchid. At the beginning of the event, we were greeted by Ms. Hilda Kitty as the Senior Brand Manager of Citra, Ms. Vivi Tri Andari as the Technical Management Manager for Unilever Indonesia, and Ms. Pamela Anastasia as the Brand Manager of Citra Face.

The MC for the event is the ever-so-pretty-and-bubbly Amy Zein.

The event started with the explanation and stories behind Citra Wakame which uses Wakame, a certain kind of seaweed from Japan, which is believed to be rich in whitening nutrients. Citra as a brand (very well known for their body care products in Indonesia) views this to be very suitable for Indonesia women's needs. But, there are actually THOUSANDS of whitening body lotion out there in the market (believe me when I say so, I am a whitening-product-freaks), what makes Citra Wakame different than those thousands?

Ms. Hilda Kitty explains that Citra Wakame actually have a very unique formulation, because it has a new formula;  gel lotion. It is water-based, so it an be absorbed by our skins really quickly, leaving no sticky residue on our skin after application.

She also told us that according to studies, there are more women on the working force now compared to 2005, which means more women have an active lifestyle. To answer the active women's lifestyle, Citra has launched Citra Wakame for these active women who don't have time to sit around waiting for their body lotion to dry, while still being able to nourish their skin with nutrients.

So, what is this Wakame that is incorporated in the new Citra body lotion?

Wakame is a special seaweed found in Japanese sea that is enriched in vital nutritions like mineral, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid, all which are known to helps keeping our skin's moisture and elasticity.

Next there was a live demonstration of how non-sticky and fast-absorbing Citra Wakame is. The demonstration was done in front of the audience, the participant were given the usual oil-based body lotion on one hand, and Citra Wakame on the other.

Next, the participant dipped her hand into a bowl of sand. The hand with oil-based lotion catches more sand than the Citra Wakame, which indicates more stickiness. The Citra Wakame side actually can be easily cleaned just by a little bit of a shake, while the oil-based side needs a little bit more work. All of us attending the event actually did the same thing, and I have to say, the Citra Wakame is indeed fast-absorbing. I think I'll review this product, I'll let you know as soon as I get my hands on these.

Another highlight of the night is the Citra Pink Orchid! Ms. Pamela Anastasia explains that lately, the concept of beauty have changed in Indonesia. A pale, striking-white complexion is no longer desirable, shifted into pinkish-white complexion which usually comes from good nutrition (that is why eating healthy food can really reflects on your skin. Just sayin')

Realizing this shift of concept, Citra develops this Citra Pink Orchid with the essence of Pink Orchid inspired by Korean Women's heritage that uses pink orchid as part of their skin care. Pink orchid is well known for blocking the formation of melanine, hence giving a whitening effect on the skin. Also, pink orchid is enriched with beneficial minerals such as zinc, magnesium and copper, so you'll have not only a fairer skin, but also that natural flush from within.

The Citra Pink Orchid series is available in the form of Face Wash and moisturizer. The face wash can helps you to clean your face from dirts, dead skin cells, and enhancing the nutrition absorption for the moisturizer.

The Citra Pink Orchid moisturizer also comes in quite a unique formulation which is a powder-finish cream that leaves a matte skin after usage. You can use this moisturizer alone and skip powder, because it can mattifies your skin, which is awesome!

No shiny-skin-after-moisturizing.

And that's it! The event was indeed lovely, I had so much fun learning about the new products and stories behind it, I can't wait to try them on!

Okay, onto the product reviews! Citra has kindly enough to sent the products for me, and i would like to review them for you.

First off, the body products:

I was a bit confused with the first product. A Nutri-Serum? Turns out this is supposed to be a "serum" for your skin, not on your face, but the whole body! You can wear any lotion afterwards, just like the one you use on your skin. Pretty neat.

At first i thought they are basically the same thing.

They're not.

The serum is much more translucent, but in terms of how long they get absorbed to your skin, both the Nutri-Serum and Gel lotion gets absorbed at the approximately the same amount of time.

Speaking of which, i made a little observation about how long it takes for the Citra Wakame Gel Body Lotion to be completely absorbed by my skin.

As you can see, it only took around 15-20 seconds for the Gel Lotion to be completely absorbed into my skin. I have been using the Gel-Lotion, and i have to say, I LOVE IT! It's very convenient since it took no time at all to be absorbed, and it's not sticky at all.

Now is the time to review their Pink Orchid moisturizer and face wash. It is very unfortunate that the Pink Orchid moisturizer kinda broke on the way being shipped to my home. Luckily it doesn't affect the products at all.

This is quite a thick moisturizer, and it has the powdery finish which is somehow trending on Indonesian market as i have observed. The good thing about this powdery finish moisturizers are that you can skip using powder afterwards as the moisturizer alone can mattify your skin.

The Pink Orchid facial foam turns into a milky consistency, and leaving a tight feeling after i used it. Some of you might like it, and it also have quite a strong flowery smell to it. I like how my face smells really nice after washing, but i think i'll pass for using it in the long haul.

All in all, i certainly am loving the whole Citra Wakame line, as they are suitable for me who's always on-the-go, and simply don't have time waiting around my body lotion to completely sink in. On the other hand, i have not fallen in love with the Pink Orchid line like i hoped i would be, perhaps because i have quite a sensitive skin.

Thank you Citra Indonesia and Female Daily for inviting me. And I hope you guys enjoy the product review and the event report as well. Let me know if you have any question. In the mean time, do follow Citra on their social media accounts for further info.
