Hello everyone!

It’s good to be back blogging with the hectic schedule and me trying to fit life in between, I have to say that it is a handful, but less about that. Today I am going to share a few makeup products that was sent to me by ULTIMA II Indonesia. I have never even tried their product before which is weird, because I believe it is widely available in department stores all over Indonesia, and yet I haven’t had a single ULTIMA II product in my makeup stash. It’s probably for the best since I’ll have a fresh set of eyes to review these products.

I know ULTIMA II to be the kind of makeup that middle-aged and slightly older woman usually buys with the simple packaging and kind of “mature” shades, but now that I have been sent the products, would it make me change my mind? Click to read more!
Hello, guys!

Yes, I am back to blogging. Hip hip hurray!!
In today's post I want to tell you guys the event that I recently did with The Face Shop Indonesia and Kawaii Beauty Japan.

If you've read my blog for quite some time you'll know Kawaii Beauty Japan and I have been partnering in some events, and I'm glad I can do another one at 20th February 2016. This is the first beauty event I attended after my long hiatus from blogging.

So, the event itself is held in Kota Kasablanka, one of the hippest (and probably busiest) mall in South Jakarta. During the 3 days period of the event, The Faceshop opens a pop-up booth right in the middle of Food Society in which you can asks for product recommendations, take pictures in the photo booth and have a free makeover!

Also, you can exhange your old cushion for the newest addition to The Faceshop cushion line: their CC Cushion FOR FREE. I'm quite sad that I don't have any old cushion laying around to exchange.

There are two types of CC Cushions that were launched; the first one is CC Cushion Intense Cover, the one type that has more coverage and slightly matte finish, and CC Cushion Ultra Moist, with dewy and lighter finish.

Like most CC Cushions, it is designed to be a one step makeup and skincare that is compact and portable. It has UV Protection of SPF 50+ PA+++ (although I highly recommend you to use separate sunscreen), and it comes in two shades, 201 and 203. I've tried 203 and it's still 1 shades lighter than my natural skin tone.

The event started with a beauty workshop by the beauty blogger Jean Milka. The model is Tia from Kawaii Beauty Japan, and the theme is Party Makeup. Honestly I didn't really pay attention to the event since I was so busy snapping pictures and trying out all The Face Shop products I could get my hands on!!

Totally irrelevant, but this is the makeup I used that day. I can never pull off a straight Korean brows, it just doesn't match with my facial feature and personality. So I stick with the usual medium arched brows that I have.

I'm trying out their CC Cushion Intense Cover in 203. As I said before, it's too light for me, but I actually like it as it gives me a brighter looking skin. Fortunately, it has yellow undertone so it's not giving me that greyish finish like some other BB/CC creams tend to do.

This is the finished look from Jean Milka on Tia. She looked georgeous! I love how Jean is keeping the makeup really simple for her although it's a party makeup.

It was such a fun event, and I'm glad I have the chance to meet other new beauty bloggers. I also won the best tweet for this event and given gift alongside other winners. YAY.

Until next time,
Beatrix

Hello, loves!

If you're by any chance reading this post, you might think that this is an abandoned blog with an irresponsible middle-aged woman with 38 dogs living alone in a house trying to get out of her boring life by writing a blog only to find that writing a blog is actually no-her-thing behind it. It is not. Close. But not quite.

You might also are an old followers looking at the reading roll in blogger and saying to yourself "Damn, I thought this blogger is dead." And not just talking about my blog, but also my existence. Like dead, dead. Not even close.

You might also see that this blog is changing it's theme every time you press the refresh button (if you do, please darling, find something else to do).

If you are one of the above, chances are I'm in the middle of redesigning this blog, so please bear with me on this painful yet refreshing process. I will be back blogging once I'm settled with my design of choice.

If AND ONLY IF by any miracle you are a website designer based on blogger platform and willing to have a needy, semi idealistic client with sarcastic sense of humor and a lack of social skill due to over-browsing YouTube under the keyword "Corgi Belly Flops", please shoot me an email to beatrix.dilla@gmail.com. We might be a match made in heaven, you never know.

Until then,
Beatrix
Hello, guys!!

Yes, I love it that much.

Nah loh, apaan tuh.

Komposisi: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Sorbitol, Strearic Acid, Mineral Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Tetrasodium EDTA, PPG-2 Methyl Ether, Triethanolamine, Imidazolidinul Urea, Chlorocetamide, p-Chloro-m-Cresol, Sodium Benzoate, Linalool.

Packaging

You can take my words for it.

Nanti diminta terus, jadi cepet habis. lol

P.S. This post is submitted for Redwin Indonesia Writing Competition
P.P.S. No, all of my opinions are true, honest and objective, regardless of whether I win the competition.
HELLO!!

Wow, it seemed like a really long time I didn’t post anything here. Kinda afraid you guys thought I’m dead. Well, kinda. I was preparing my final thesis and the thesis defense for the past 6 months, and it has been very time-consuming. Enough about that, I’ll probably have it in another post.

In this post I’m going to be writing about a new brand of skincare that just newly hits the market. I figure, it has been a while since I’ve posted something in Bahasa, and I want to practice writing in Bahasa as well, so, I will be writing in Bahasa (rolls eyes).

YAY MORE GOODIES TO REVIEW AND SPREAD THE NEWS WITH!

HELLO, GUYS!

Whoa, talk about being MIA.

I guess this is a cycle for me as a beauty blogger AND a full-time college student where I tend to be missing tri-monthly due to my college's exam schedule.
Also added the fact that I am now on my last semester and currently writing my final paper. Whoottt..

Anyhow, today I want to write about this event that I recently joined, the Bioderma Skin Class.

You guys probably have already heard about Bioderma. If you haven't (seriously??) , you've come to the right place!

So, what is Bioderma?

Pioneering in skincare since 1970's, Bioderma has acquired unique expertise by placing biology at the service of dermatology. This original scientific approach relies first and foremost on knowledge of the skin and its biological mechanisms to formulate products directly inspired by them.

One of their best selling product has got to be the Sensibio H2O, a cleanser that looks and feels exactly like water which can wipe off even the waterproof makeup off your face. We'll talk about that some more. Meanwhile, let us all gawk at the prettiest sampling menu of Liberte Jakarta??

Sensibio H2O claims to:

  • Combines performance and very high tolerance
  • Cleanses and removes make-up from the face and eyes
  • Soothes and clears up irritated skin
  • Produces a feeling of instant freshness
  • Non-rinse

It is also worth mentioning that they are fragrance-free, paraben-free, alcohol-free and also hypoalergenic tested. A of Bioderma Sensibio H2O is sold within 5 seconds worldwide, and has received many beauty awards, one of them being Elle Beauty Awards and Female Daily Beauty Awards.

What makes Sensibio H2O special?

Sensibio H2O is the 1st and only dermatological micellar water perfectly compatible with the skin: its fatty acid esters, the constituent elements of micelles, are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes
and naturally help rebuild the skin's hydrolipidic film.

I am a born skeptic, so I wouldn't really believe all the rave unless I've tested a product by myself. Fortunately, in this Bioderma Skin Class I was given the opportunity to test the products furthermore!

Meet Yi Chin, he was explaining all the science behind Bioderma Sensibio H2O and also demonstrating the cleansing ability of Bioderma Sensibio H2O.

Yi Chin put a whole loads of powder into my hand and then using a very light swipe, he cleans the powder off my hand using Bioderma Sensibio H2O. Click on the video to see how fast it is!

No rinsing involved whatsoever. It is also worth mentioning, the cleaned part feels a lot more smooth than the rest.

Not only effective in cleansing your face, Bioderma Sensibio H2O is also VERY SAFE for your skin. Being paraben, alcohol, and fragrance free, Sensibio H2O is suitable for sensitive skin gals. Also, Sensibio H2O also has the pH level which is very close to our skin's pH level.

We went a little bit scientific and does this little experiment of measuring Sensibio H2O's pH level.

It is said that for skincare products, the pH should be withing the range of 4-6 pH. As you can see, Bioderma Sensibio H2O easily falls within that range, proving it is very safe for our skin.

Alongside with Sensibio H2O, there is also Bioderma Sebium that is formulated for those of you with oily and acne-prone skin. Bioderma Sebium is packaged in a green bottle while Sebium H2O is in pink!

There are several packages of Bioderma Sensibio H2O, it is available in 100ml, 250ml, and 500ml. You can easily get your hands on them simply by visiting the nearest Guardian or Watson outlet and Luxola.com

Ending this post with the groufie of Beauty Bloggers attending this skin class.
Thank You Bioderma Indonesia for inviting me, we had so much fun!!

Have a great weekend, guys!

Beatrix

Hello!!

So, a few days back I was contacted to do a blind review test in which I will be reviewing a product without even knowing the brand of the product itself. This is a new experience for me, but being me, you know I'd jump at anything new and sounds exciting for me, so I agreed to do the blind review test!

I literally have no information whatsoever regarding this product, and that's what makes it much more interesting! All that I know is that this mascara is Sephora-worthy, and that you can track me and other beauty bloggers' experience with it using the hashtag #rollwithindo.

Packaging:

Since this is a blind test review, the company sent me a plain mascara bottle with nothing whatsoever written on it. I can't comment much on this perspective, I guess.

I probably have already said this before, but I am going to say this again: when it comes to mascara, the wand is actually just as important as the product itself. Different types of mascara wand can create a different desired effects on your lashes, and combined with the right formula and consistency of the mascara, it is and endless combination for us to choose from!

Fun being a girl, isn't it?

For this particular mascara, the wand is actually really special. It is slightly curved, which makes it easier for us since it follow the natural curve of our eye shape. The wand itself is VERY elastic, almost springy. This is great especially for shaping your lashes to reach its maximum curl.

It is not the usual brush mascara wand, in fact it has little plastic "spikes" which has two sides, the longer and shorter size. Personally, I use the longer side first to separate my lashes, and then continuing with the shorter side to emphasize the volume of my lashes. This works mighty fine on me, and I can safely say that having two side of mascara really helps if you're looking for different looks of lashes.

As for the mascara formulation itself, I have to say that this has leaned more into the "wet" formulation kind of mascara. You can really see the peak of product accumulation on the tip of mascara wand pictured above. It stayed on my top lashes for quite some time without smudging or smearing (6 hours), but not it did not stay the same on my lower lashes (3-4 hours, give or take).

Was it a waterproof mascara? Well I tried to cry while using this mascara, and surprisingly I did not end up looking like a raccoon, so that's a huge thumbs up from me!!

I DID NOT, however, recommend to rub your eyes after crying, because that's where you got those raccoon eyes, baby girl. Upon the first coat, it stayed on quite remarkably, but after applying the second coat, it is no longer smudge-proof as the first coat does.

Effect:

The most prominent effect I personally get from this mascara is the whooping curling effect that it gives to my lashes. Below are the before-after shot of me using this mascara WITHOUT EYELASH CURLER. Look at them curl, gurl!!

This mascara has successfully lifts up my lashes and curls them beautifully, but not only that, it also makes the curls lasts.

As for lengthening, volumizing and separation effect, it was so-so. I mean it was not the worst, but I've seen other mascara that does these effects better. I guess you just can't have it all, can you?

Result:

All in all, was I pleased with the mascara?
It has been a staple in my daily makeup bag, so I guess you can say that I was very much pleased. I do have quite a long eyelashes to begin with, so lengthening is not really the effect I'm looking for. I believe this mascara is designed to fit the purpose of curling the lashes, that's why I really like it. The lengthening, volumizing and separating effect is not too bad, that is why I keep it on my purse daily. The longevity is quite alright with me too, although I would like it to stay longer on my lower lashes, please.

I can't wait for the brand revelation this Mid February!! Stay tune on my social media account as I would be revealing the brand as well.

What do you think of this mascara? Tell me your thoughts in the comment section below!!
